Most Swedish government officials and politicians will give you the same story: Sweden is on its way to be independent of fossil fuel. Nothing can be further form the truth. Sweden is dependent on fossil fuels for all its transport system. (Yes, the electric railway system needs fossil-fuelled vehicles to maintain it.)
AND it needs it for its economic growth, both follow the same curve, the more GDP goes up the more fuel is used. They cannot manage a downturn in fossil fuel supply or a hike in prices without GDP suffering unless they work some interesting magic with taxes.
